How to make: Crème au chocolat

Oi! Oi! Everyone!

In the last week or so I thought to myself, why buy something that I can make at home for less money (?!), this is where the inspiration on the “How to make” series came to mind. I would try recipes on how to make everyday things and if it works and it is good I’ll share it with you.

For the first episode (?) ever, I wanted to make something that I love, chocolate cream or crème au chocolate. A dessert for all family to enjoy.

Let’s get to it…

You will need:

  • 1 l whole milk
  • 200 g chocolate
  • 100 g caster sugar
  • 50 g butter
  • 40 g flour

To make the cream:

  1. Mix the flour and butter in a pan over low-medium heat, stir constantly.
  2. Add in the milk and stir until everything is well mixed.
  3. Add the sugar and stir.
  4. Add chocolate cut in little squares, let the mixture warm up for about 10 minutes, it needs to simmer.
  5. Pour the mixture into ramekins and let it cool off then put them in the fridge for at least two hours.

I found that the creams were even better 2 or 3 days after. With this recipe, I made around eight chocolate creams. I found this recipe super quick and easy to make.
